PURPOSE: A coding method of an image, a device thereof, a decoding method thereof, and a device thereof are provided to filter surrounding pixels of a current block, and to perform intra prediction for the current block by using the filtered surrounding pixels, thereby improving compression efficiency of the image. CONSTITUTION: A decoding device extracts intra prediction mode information, which is applied to a current decoding unit, from a bitstream(2020). The decoding device determines corresponding surrounding pixels among surrounding pixels, which are adjacent to the current decoding unit, and filtered surrounding pixels based on a size of the current decoding unit and the intra prediction mode(2030). The decoding device performs intra prediction for the current decoding unit based on the determined surrounding pixels and the intra prediction mode information(2040).
