<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark plug for an internal combustion engine with reduced loads on an insulator. <P>SOLUTION: The spark plug comprises: an elongated center electrode having a center electrode tip 28 at one end and a terminal proximate to the other end; an insulator 14 substantially surrounding the center electrode, the insulator 14 having a channel formed in an exterior surface of the insulator 14; and an outer shell 16 surrounding the insulator 14, the outer shell having a jam nut portion and a distal end extending from the jam nut portion, where the distal end of the outer shell 16 is aligned so as to be received in and engage the channel of the outer shell 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
