<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber diagnosis method which can be applied even to long-distance optical fibers. <P>SOLUTION: First light having a wavelength of 1.24 μm, second light having a wavelength of 1.31 μm, and third light having a wavelength of 1.59 μm are made incident on an optical fiber using an OTDR (optical time-domain reflectometer), and the light intensity of the reflected light of each of the first to third light is detected. Then, a transmission loss of each of the first to third light is determined. Then, a determination is made as to whether or not the ratio of the transmission loss of the first light to the transmission loss of the second light is equal to or higher than a predetermined first threshold value. Then, a determination is made as to whether or not the ratio of the transmission loss of the third light to the transmission loss of the second light is equal to or higher than a predetermined second threshold value.
