<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an N-acylamino acid (3) in good yield. <P>SOLUTION: The method is configured to produce an N-acylamino acid (3) by reacting an aldehyde compound (1), an amide compound (2), and carbon monoxide in the presence of a cobalt compound and hydrogen in a solvent in a reactor.
