PURPOSE: A device for compensating the current sensor output of a motor driven power steering device in a vehicle and a method for the same are provided to reduce motor rotation noise and a motor torque ripple by minimizing a phase current imbalance. CONSTITUTION: A device for compensating the current sensor output of a motor driven power steering device in a vehicle comprises a current compensation logic part(1), an inverter(2), a motor(3), and a current sensor(4). The current compensation logic part applies a phase current to the inverter on the basis of current reference input and the initial electrical angle information of a motor. The current compensation logic part receives the feedback current of the motor, calculates the offset and linearity of a current sensor, and compensates the calculated offset and linearity to the output value of the current sensor.
