<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery offering a high energy density while utilizing an organic electrolytic solution. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes an electrolyte layer between a positive electrode and a negative electrode, at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode is a sintered body 1 with a relative density of 70% or higher, and the electrolyte layer includes a porous membrane 2a composed of an inorganic compound, and a nonaqueous electrolyte contained in pores of the porous membrane.
