<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass production apparatus which can prevent the occurrence of bubbles in molten glass. <P>SOLUTION: The glass production apparatus 1 includes a glass producing container 10, and a water content adjusting mechanism 50. The glass producing container 10 has a container body 11 and an electron donor 12. The container body 11 is composed of a noble metal or an alloy containing the noble metal. The container body 11 has an inner surface 11b in contact with glass melt 14 and an outer surface 11c not in contact with the glass melt 14. The electron donor 12 is connected electrically to the outer surface 11c of the container body 11. The electron donor 12 contains an electron donating substance which donates electrons to the container body 11 at a use temperature.
