The device has a free wheel (5) mounted on a connecting shaft with a wheel (2). The free wheel includes external coupling teeth complementary to external coupling teeth of an idle gear (3). A ratchet wheel mounted in free rotation on a casing (10) and in coaxial rigidity relative to an output shaft (6) presents axial external coupling teeth corresponding to external coupling teeth of a coupling ring. An annular shaped commutation sleeve (4) presents axial inner coupling teeth corresponding to the external coupling teeth of the ratchet wheel and the idle gear mounted on the wheel.
