Provided is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell which charges at high voltages, which can obtain high capacities and which can withstand the repeated use demanded in real applications as a vehicle-mounted power source for driving a motor. This non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell comprises a solid solution-based positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the non-aqueous electrolyte contains a base electrolyte containing a specific compound (alpha) and a lithium salt (beta), and one or more compounds represented by general formula (II) (Z is an alkaline metal or an alkaline-earth metal, k is an integer between 1-5).
