An arc welding apparatus is disclosed in one form including a conductor tube (454) defining an internal passageway (504) and a distal end portion (466). The internal passageway (504) has an internal profile proximate the distal end portion (466). The apparatus further includes an alignment device (462) comprising an exterior profile (502) and an internal passage (604). The exterior profile (502) is configured for mechanical attachment to the internal profile of the conductor tube (454). The apparatus also includes a conduit liner disposed in the internal passageway (504) of the conductor tube (454) and the internal passage (604) of the alignment device (462).
