<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device and a printing apparatus in which a thermal influence by UV irradiation is small. <P>SOLUTION: The light irradiation device for irradiating a film-like object having light transmission covered with UV curable ink or UV curable resin, with light containing UV rays includes: a light irradiation device arranged so as to face one side principal surface of the object; and a first return roller which is located more on the downstream side from the light irradiation device in the movement direction of the object with respect to the light irradiation device, comes into contact with the other side principal surface side of the object, inverts the object to the lower side and inverts the movement direction of the object so as to face the light irradiation device via such an object that the other side principal surface of the inverted object is located on the upper side. Thus, the downsized light irradiation device which sufficiently performs UV curing and in which the thermal influence from a light emission element is relatively small can be attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
