<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC chip that reduces a processing time by the protective function of data by protecting data by an appropriate protective function, a method of processing in the IC chip, a processing program for the IC chip, and an IC card and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU6 includes the "protective function of a non-update region by a card OS" and the "protective function of an update region by transaction."
