<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate hardly having luminance unevenness containing hot spots and glittering lines in the vicinity of a light-incident surface on a light-emitting surface and capable of attaining local dimming, a plane light source device having the light guide plate, a display device having the plane light source device, and a television set having the display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the light guide plate including at least one light-incident surface for receiving light from a light source, a light-emitting surface for emitting light incident from the light-incident surface, and a facing surface faced to the light-emitting surface, at least either the light-emitting surface or the facing surface has a groove structure arranged approximately in parallel with a normal direction of the light-incident surface. The light-incident surface includes a first partial region showing anisotropic light diffusion characteristics, and a second partial region wherein the maximum diffusion angle is smaller than that in the first partial region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
