PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by providing a pretreatment process for eliminating organic matter and microorganisms.

SOLUTION: This seawater desalination system S includes an organic matter adsorption treatment apparatus 4 and a microorganism reducing treatment apparatus 5 for reducing organic matter and microorganisms in seawater 1; a reverse osmosis membrane treatment apparatus 6 for desalination; an organic matter concentration measuring apparatus 7 for measuring organic matter concentration in the seawater 1 supplied to the apparatus 4 and treated; a microorganism amount measuring apparatus 8 for measuring the amount of microorganisms in the seawater 1 supplied to the apparatus 5 and treated; an adsorption treating agent washing condition computing apparatus 9 for outputting adsorption treating agent washing information 90a when an adsorption treating agent in the apparatus 4 is not usable; an adsorption treating agent washing water supply apparatus 10 for supplying washing water 41 to the apparatus 4 based on the washing information 90a; a microorganism reduction treating agent washing condition computing apparatus 9 for outputting microorganism reduction treating agent washing information 90b when a microorganism reduction treating agent in the apparatus 5 is not repeatedly usable; and a microorganism reduction treating agent washing water supply apparatus 10 for supplying washing water 51 to the apparatus 5 based on the washing information 90b.
