<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication device and a mirror element for detecting the state of a mirror element. <P>SOLUTION: Movable beams 22-1 to 22-4 have sensor parts 25-1 to 25-4, and therefore the states of the movable beams 22-1 to 22-4 can be detected on the basis of a change in the resistance values of the sensor parts 25-1 to 25-4.
