<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize in an optical connector, which connects a built-in optical fiber and an inserted optical fiber butted against each other in a positioning groove, low-reflection connection of the butted part achieved by inclining the end faces of the optical fibers and to keep the connector free from the fear of suffering optical fiber chipping in the assembling process. <P>SOLUTION: The rear end face of a built-in optical fiber to be butted against an inserted optical fiber is given an inclination by cutting, at least the circumference of the inclined end face of the built-in optical fiber being rounded by electric discharge, and a resin film having optical transmissivity and elasticity is formed over the rounded inclined end face. The resin film intervenes between the built-in optical fiber and the inserted optical fiber. The built-in optical fiber is so arranged in a positioning groove as to have a constant rotational angle. The end face of the inserted optical fiber to be butted against the built-in optical fiber is a merely cut and inclined end face undergoing neither electric discharge nor resin film formation. The inserted optical fiber is given a rotational angle matched with the constant rotational angle of the built-in optical fiber in the positioning groove. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
