<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit water from intruding into an organic layer thereby making organic materials less likely to be deteriorated in an organic EL element. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL element 1 includes: a substrate 2; multiple organic layers 3 provided on the substrate 2 and including a light emitting layer; and a pair of electrode layers 4, 5 sandwiching the organic layers 3. Further, the organic EL element 1 has an auxiliary electrode layer 4a which is provided so as to enclose outer peripheral ends of the organic layers 3, contacts with the electrode layer 4, and equalizes the conductivity of the electrode layer 4 and a moisture absorption layer 8 provided on the auxiliary electrode layer 4a so as not to contact with the organic layers 3. In this structure, the moisture absorption layer 8 provided on the auxiliary electrode layer 4a blocks water from intruding. Thus, the structure inhibits water from intruding into the organic layers 3 including the light emitting layer and makes organic materials of the organic layers 3 less likely to be deteriorated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
