PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a control method thereof are provided to generate note information which is simultaneously outputted with video information and book information by using a plurality of three-dimensional layers. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen displays a plurality of three-dimensional layers according to control of a control unit(1180). The plurality of the three-dimensional layers includes a three-dimensional depth on a virtual three-dimensional space. The plurality of the three-dimensional layers is arranged IN a predetermined form. A first layer in the plurality of the three-dimensional layers outputs video information. A second layer in the plurality of the three-dimensional layers outputs book information for the video information. A third layer in the plurality of the three-dimensional layers outputs the note information.
