VEHICLE TRAVEL CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travel control system and a method therefor, capable of preventing a sudden change in acceleration torque due to current travel conditions of a vehicle and simultaneously calculating demand torque faithfully reflecting the demand of a driver in accordance with the current travel conditions of the vehicle.

SOLUTION: A vehicle travel control method includes: setting a creep torque as a minimum torque; setting a maximum torque as a sum of a maximum torque of an engine and a maximum torque of a motor; monitoring an APS (Accel pedal Position Sensor) value; calculating a demand torque according to the APS value; setting a filter coefficient value for filtering the demand torque according to a travel condition of the vehicle; and filtering the demand torque by means of the set filter coefficient value.
