<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a sandwich method for detection of biological materials in which magnetic particles modified with second biological materials are bound with the other magnetic particles and are optically observed, in a way that detection can be performed without putting a marker on the surface of a detection area. <P>SOLUTION: In a sandwich method for detection of biological materials, an antibody 2 to be detected is sandwiched between antigens, one antigen is bound to a detection area 7 on a substrate 6, and the other antigen is bound with a first magnetic particle 1 (Figure 4(a)). A second solution including second magnetic particles 9 which are bigger than the first magnetic particles 1 is provided to the substrate 6 (Figure 4(b)) and the second magnetic particles 9 are bound to the first magnetic particles 1 by applying the magnetic field (Figure 4(c)). The second magnetic particles 9 which are not bound to the first magnetic particles 1 are rinsed (Figure 4(d)) and the substrate 6 is optically observed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
