The method involves determining whether oil supply of a secondary system pressure circuit begins at final test stand at preset gear box suction temperature in different switched gears for gear combination saturation rotation speeds i.e. gear box input speed. An average value of the saturation rotation speeds, determined for individual gear combinations, is formed and defined as saturation rotation speed of the gear box. Internal leakage of the gear box is determined from the saturation rotation speed by theoretical pumping conveyance detection.
