<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device that can easily control a light distribution characteristic in a width direction of a road, a lighting unit, and lighting equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In the lighting device, an optical lens 11 has a maximum point wherein a distance from a light incident surface to a light emitting surface in an optical axis direction becomes largest, on a cut surface wherein the optical lens is cut with a plane including an optical axis and extending in a first direction orthogonal to the optical axis.
