<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of providing a precise and high brightness display performance with a small power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes: a front panel formed with a protection layer; and a back panel disposed facing the front panel. The protection layer is formed of a metal oxide containing magnesium oxide and calcium oxide. The protection layer includes aluminum and has a peak, in X-lay diffraction analysis on the protection layer surface, between a diffraction angle at which a peak is generated on a crystal orientation face (111) of the magnesium oxide and a diffraction angle at which a peak of the calcium oxide is generated in the identical direction as the peak of the magnesium oxide. The density of calcium of the protection layer is 3-15 atom%. The density of calcium of the protection layer is preferably 100-200 ppm in weight ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
