A method, apparatus, computer program and user interface wherein the method comprises: providing a plurality of user interface items on a portion of a touch sensitive display wherein in a first mode of operation actuation of an area of the touch sensitive display in which a user interface item is displayed causes a function associated with the user interface item to be performed; and configuring the touch sensitive display into a second mode of operation wherein in the second mode of operation actuation of an area of the touch sensitive display in which a user interface item is displayed causes a non- visual output indicative of the function associated with a user interface item to be provided without enabling the function.
