<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte capable of obtaining a photoelectric conversion element, operable also at a low temperature because it does not coagulate, and having high temperature durability, in other words, excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency after the lapse of a prolonged period under high temperature condition. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte contains ethylene carbonate and predetermined alkylene carbonate.
