The method involves heating a heat carrier fluid (11) using energy stored in buffer (21) based on activation of unloading device (30). The alternate activation of power saving program and heating program is performed. The heat generator (16) and unloading device are activated by heating program. The temperature of buffer is determined, and preheating phase is activated before activating the heating program such that heat generator is deactivated and unloading device is activated. The preheating phase is deactivated when buffer temperature is less than/equal to target value.
