摘要 PURPOSE: A safety testing device using a mechano-luminescent material for testing the fracture of a structure and a method thereof are provided to accurately measure a plane strain fracture toughness value according to a change in the length of the fracture in semi-dynamic destruction. CONSTITUTION: A safety testing device using a mechano-luminescent material for testing the fracture of a structure(10) comprises a guide rail(30), a video recording device(40), an UV lamp(50), and an administrator terminal(60). Both ends of the guide rail are fixed to the structure, thereby being installed lengthy in a longitudinal direction or a width direction to be adjacent to the surface of the structure. The video recording device observes the mechano-luminescent material of predetermined thickness which is spread on the surface of the structure, thereby recording videos by transmitting. The UV lamp irradiates ultraviolet rays to the mechano-luminescent material on the surface of the structure which the video recording device observes.
