<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device able to suppress an increase in the temperature of an end part outside a paper passage area and able to make temperature distribution in the paper passage area uniform by a relatively simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A heat roller 10 comprises: a lamp 1 that heats a central area; a lamp 2 that heats the large area of each end part; and a lamp 3 that heats the small area of the end part. Also, the heat roller 10 has: a temperature sensor 11 arranged in a position corresponding to the heat generation area h1 of the central lamp 1; a temperature sensor 12 arranged in a position corresponding to each of the heat generation areas h2 and h3 of the end part lamps 2 and 3; and, in addition, a temperature sensor 13 arranged outside the heat generation areas h1, h2, and h3 (an end part outside the paper passage area).
