<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device which makes a high-pressure side side plate follow a seal body, increases the rigidity of the high-pressure side side plate, and can prevent fluttering, and a rotating machine having the shaft seal device. <P>SOLUTION: The shaft seal device 10 is arranged in an annular space between a rotor and a stator surrounding the external periphery of the rotor, and divides the annular space into a low-pressure side region and a high-pressure side region in the axial direction of the rotor. The shaft seal device is also characterized by comprising: the seal body 12 which is formed by laminating a plurality of thin-thickness seal pieces 20 extending from the stator toward the inside of the radial direction of the rotor in the circumferential direction of the rotor; the high-pressure side side plate 16 which extends from the stator toward the inside of the radial direction so as to progress along the high-pressure side of the seal body 12, and is divided into a plurality of pieces in the circumferential direction; and a rigidity imparting means 30 which imparts rigidity in the axial direction to a part of face which is oriented to the high-pressure side region in the high-pressure side side plate 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
