<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup, in which a quarter-wave plate is unnecessary and a retardation function of the quarter-wave plate can be obtained by another optical element without increasing a load on designing a multilayer film. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup includes: a first reflection enhancing mirror 5 that reflects a laser beam exiting from a laser light source 1 (2, 3) and giving a first retardation (B) to the laser beam; and a second reflection enhancing mirror 6 that reflects a laser beam from the first reflection enhancing mirror 5 and giving a second retardation (C) to the laser beam. The optical pickup is configured to control the total retardation generating in an optical path from the laser light source 1 to an optical disk to about 1/4 wavelength (±90°). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
