<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate capable of sufficiently spreading in a direction of light emitted from a light emitting surface, a backlight unit using the light guide plate, and a liquid crystal display device using the backlight. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide plate 1 is formed by preparing dot patterns 3 on at least one surface of a light guide plate base material 2. The dot pattern 3 is made of particles having at least a part of interfaces of materials with different refractive indexes, and includes particles 5 for a light guide plate having a particle shape as a whole, and a binder material 6. Hollow particles, core-shell grains, or deformed particles are used for the particles 5 for a light guide plate. The backlight unit is formed by using the light guide plate 1 and a light source, and the liquid crystal display device is formed by using the backlight unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
