<p>An objective of the present invention is to provide an illumination device with which it is possible to accurately retain a location relation between an LED and a light guide plate, and particularly between an emission face of the LED and an entry face of the light guide plate, and a display device which uses the illumination device. To this end, this illumination device includes at least a light guide plate, an illumination substrate in which a plurality of light emitting elements is mounted in a single line, an illumination unit which is configured with the illumination substrate attached to the light guide plate, a diffusion plate which is disposed in the forward face of the illumination unit, and a lower chassis which anchors the illumination unit and the diffusion plate. The light guide plate is provided with a groove part on the reverse side from the light emission face. The illumination substrate further mounts a positioning component. The positioning component of the illumination substrate is fitted into the groove part of the light guide plate, attaching the illumination substrate to the light guide plate.</p> |
