PURPOSE: A camera image signal monitoring device and a method thereof are provided to increase camera operation reliability by monitoring the image signal output of an image sensor during camera operation. CONSTITUTION: A power supply circuit unit(22) blocks or supplies power to an image sensor(20) in a camera of a vehicle. The image sensor outputs image information by converting the information into an electric signal. A micro computer(24) controls power supply. The micro computer receives an intrinsic ID, image frame count information, and frequency information from the image sensor to determine reset. The micro computer determines the operation interruption of the image sensor.
