<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VA type liquid crystal display element which can exhibit wide viewing angle and increase light transmittance. <P>SOLUTION: A cross-shaped opening and a rectangular opening are respectively provided in a lattice shape into a first electrode 3 and a second electrode facing via a liquid crystal layer to each other. The opening patterns provided in the first electrode 3 and the second electrode are the same. The cross-shaped opening provided in the second electrode, when viewed in a viewer direction, belongs to a square region 31 in which the diagonal vertices are recessed vertices facing to each other of the four cross-shaped openings, two each aligning in lengthwise and crosswise directions in the first electrode 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
