<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and quickly expand an air bag toward a side space between an occupant and a vehicle side wall. <P>SOLUTION: A side air bag device 1 protects an occupant 90 with a side space 92. An air bag 10 has a fixing part 11 which is fixed to a side portion 85 of a seat 80 and is folded from the side portion 85 toward the side space 92 in such a way that it can be developed. An inflator 2 generates a gas to develop the air bag 10 up to an extremity end 12 in a developing direction F. The air bag 10 has a bellows folding part having a portion between the extremity end 12 and the fixing part 11 folded in bellows manner. The bellows folding part is arranged in front of the developing direction F and at the same time it is doubled up toward a rearward portion of the developing direction F of the fixing part 11 in such a way that a part subsequent to the fixing part 11 may be positioned inside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
