According to one embodiment, an image processing method includes: generating reduced information obtained by reducing input image information with a reduction ratio; calculating a moving amount in a unit of a first display area based on the reduced information and reduced previous information obtained by reducing image information input prior to the input image information with the reduction ratio; calculating a moving amount in a unit of a second display area of the input image information by magnifying the moving amount in the unit of a first display area calculated with a first magnification ratio that is an inverse of the reduction ratio, and calculate an adjustment level in the unit of the second display area based on the moving amount in the unit of the second display area, which indicates a level of high frequency component image information to be blended on the input image information.
