This safety medical needle is provided with: a needle body with a needle tip and side that can be inserted in a body; a flexible sheath that can be fitted to the needle body and side, and is sized so as to cover the side; and a slider that slidably fits to the needle body and sheath so as to be able to move from a first position where the needle tip is exposed, to a second position where the needle tip is covered, and is sized so as rub against the sheath in such a manner that when the slider moves from the first position to the second position, the sheath mates with the needle body.
