<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for switching to a reserve system. <P>SOLUTION: Reserve systems 13 and 14 include reserve system TPNDs 131 and 132 in which signals of different classes can be accommodated, and a reserve system TPND 141 in which a signal for each of classes can be accommodated. An optical transmission apparatus comprises: a fault detection section 151 which detects a fault in an active system TPND 11; a first setting section 155 which performs simplified setting to enable signal transmission, on the reserve system TPND 131 (132) corresponding to the class of a signal being accommodated in the active system TPND 11 when a fault is detected; a second setting section 156 which performs setting equal to the active system TPND 11 on the reserve system TPND 141 when a fault is detected; a first stage switching section 157 which switches from the active system TPND 11 to the reserve system TPND 131 (132) after setting is completed by the first setting section 155; and a second stage switching section 158 which switches from the reserve system TPND 131 (132) to the reserve system TPND 141 after setting is completed by the second setting section 156. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
