<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component housing frame that improves cooling efficiency for optical components arranged side by side, and can make a projector compact, and the projector. <P>SOLUTION: An optical component housing frame (first housing frame 51) houses a liquid crystal panel 341B which generates heat with luminous flux emitted from a light source 301, and has an intake in which air for cooling (cooling air) enters, a flow passage through which the air flowing in from the intake 5112 flows into the first housing frame 511, and a discharge port 5113 for discharging the air flowing in the flow passage to at least one of an incidence side and a projection side of the luminous flux. The projector 1 includes a first housing frame 51, a liquid crystal panel 341B housed in the first housing frame 51, and a second housing frame 52 positioned on an incidence side of the first housing frame 51, and the discharge port 5113 is so formed as to blow cooling air blasts A1, A2 toward a center part C2 of an incidence-side polarizing plate 342B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
