<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor microphone in which an entire periphery of an opening side end of a case is caulked inward while a diaphragm, a stationary electrode and a substrate are coaxially assembled in a cylindrical metallic case with a bottom, and that has a structure that does not hinder an assembling operation using caulking and is not forcedly positioned in a rotation direction by a manual operation when it is mounted to a main substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A case 1 is formed into a stepped cylindrical shape. That is to say, an outside diameter of an outer periphery 13 near a bottom part 11 is formed so as to be smaller than an outside diameter of an outer periphery 15 near an opening side end 14.
