<p>A backlight device (10) is provided with a chassis (11), reflecting sheets (16L, 16R) overlaid on the surface of the chassis, and an edge-light format light-guiding plate (13) overlaid on the reflecting sheets. Two reflecting sheets are provided to cover the chassis. The adjacent edges of the reflecting sheets overlap each other. A housing section (17) for housing the portion at which the edges of the reflecting sheets overlap is formed in the chassis.</p> |
