<p>An image capturing device comprises: an image capturing unit for capturing an image of a subject and obtaining the digital image thereof; an optical system for forming an optical image of the subject at a predetermined position of the image capturing unit; a setting unit for setting the tolerance of the focused position of the captured image; a focus adjustment unit for driving the optical system and adjusting the focused position of the captured image within the tolerance set by the setting unit; and an information generation unit for, based on a plurality of digital images having an identical scene obtained by the image capturing unit and having different focused positions, generating information on the distance from the image capturing device to the subject. Among the plurality of digital images, the setting unit sets the tolerance of the focused position of the digital image to be captured later on the basis of the focused range of the digital image obtained by being captured previously.</p> |
