PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for parallel processing of images are provided to improve analysis speed of the image frame by more than several times, by analyzing the image frame in a parallel type of performing mask operation as dividing the image frame into a number of processing areas not overlapped with each other. CONSTITUTION: An area setting unit(110) receives at least one image frame obtained from an image acquisition unit, divides a pixel area of the image frame into a number of processing areas, and divides the processing area at every processing period of a number of cores(131) as moving the processing area from the left to the right and from the top to the bottom as much as a unit pixel in a pixel region. An area allocation unit(120) allocates the set processing areas to the core for mask operations at every processing period.
