<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing usability for a user from being lowered even when a structure provided with an air cleaning function is adopted. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: a case 50 having an image forming unit 10 that performs image formation corresponding to image data, and paper housing units 41 below the image forming unit; and a base 60 located below the case 50. The base 60 has upper and lower housing units, each having an option setting of mounting a paper housing unit 41, an air cleaning unit 70 or the like. The air cleaning unit 70 cleans with a filter the air inhaled from the outside of the apparatus, and exhales it.
