[Also in Division F4] In a closure member of the kind having a tubular part or spout 4 closed by a resilient plug which is perforated before use by a hollow needle and which seals the perforation by its own resilience, the plug is inserted from the wider end 21 of the tubular part and is retained inside by an integrally formed shoulder 5 and by a ring 10 or annular member forced up behind the plug to act as an internal shoulder. In a modification the tubular part 4 is formed with a constriction which acts as the internal shoulder. The tubular part may be of metal and formed integrally with a flange 7 whose outer edge is secured to a receptacle, or the tubular part may be of a moulded synthetic resin and be received by a sheet metal pressing 12 secured to a receptacle.</p> |
