<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently suppress a temperature rise of an LED element at a center in a main scanning direction especially when continuous reading is performed for long time in a state where a light source unit is fixed in a reading position in the light source unit in which the plurality of LED elements are arranged in a columnar shape in the main scanning direction to constitute a light source section. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader includes a first scanning unit 45 constituted in such a way that a plurality of LED elements 76 emitting light to an original are arranged in a columnar shape in a main scanning direction to constitute an LED array 71 inside a reader housing 43. An inlet port 81 and an exhaust port 91 are disposed on side faces of the reader housing 43, and the inlet port 81 and the exhaust port 91 are constituted so that a virtual line S of an air passage connecting the inlet port 81 and the exhaust port 91 passes a vicinity R of a center in the main scanning direction of the LED array 71 in the first scanning unit 45 stopping in a reading position of the transported original. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
