The method involves detecting a material surface with profile depth determination procedure confirming to ISO 3274standard. The record of section line profile depth values around measurement baseline is received. A start line is determined in the complete profile corresponding to lowest profile depth value. The profile depth values are selected, while matching the skewness of certain line in overall profile with target skewness. The selected profile depth value is represented as pore profile, while separating processing profile from overall profile.
