It is determined whether transmission of acknowledgement information and transmission of timing information are scheduled to take place within the same time slot. Transmission of said first and second channel is controlled to take place on different carriers, if it is determined that transmissions of acknowledgement information and timing information are not scheduled to take place within the same time slot. The transmission of acknowledgement data is shifted, if it is determined that transmissions of acknowledgement information and timing information are scheduled to take place within the same time slot.
