<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for positioning a laminar workpiece, capable of positioning without giving damage such as a crack or a scratch to both an edge of the laminar workpiece and a positioning pin positioning the laminar workpiece. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes the positioning pin 2 positioning a thin glass plate W by abutting an edge We of the glass plate W thereagainst, and a pressing mechanism 10 movably supporting the positioning pin 2 at an abutting point XL set on the further side than an actual positioning point X from the glass plate W, and pushing back the positioning pin 2, against which the edge We of the glass plate W has been abutted at the abutting point XL, to the actual positioning point X together with the glass plate W. The pressing mechanism 10 contains a stepping motor 12, and a pressing disk 16 slidingly contacting with the positioning pin 2 while being eccentrically rotated by output of the stepping motor 12, and moving the positioning pin 2 from the abutting point XL to the actual positioning point X. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
