METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ANTIFOULING SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing antifouling substrate having a film formed using a fluorine-containing hydrolyzable silane compound in which storage stability of a film forming composition to be used is favorable and an obtained film has an excellent antifouling performance.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing antifouling substrate having the film formed using the fluorine-containing hydrolyzable silane compound on a substrate includes steps of: manufacturing the film forming composition which contains the fluorine-containing hydrolyzable silane compound but does not substantially contain a hydrolysis reaction catalyst; depositing the film forming composition on the substrate or drying it after wet coating to obtain a precursor film; and forming the film by surface treatment of the precursor film by a treatment liquid containing the hydrolysis reaction catalyst.
